I tried using your guide for installing VLC on the YellowDog OS within my PS3. I have ran into the following issues: When finishing the process I enter the code to install "yum install vlc" and this is the message given:
"[root@localhost ~]# yum install vlc
Loading "protectbase" plugin
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Parsing package install arguments
115 packages excluded due to repository protections
Nothing to do"

I then tried to erase the portectbase and reinstall to be sure I entered the protections correctly, and that contiuned to fail with the same errors. The furthest it ever made was to this
"[root@localhost ~]# yum install vlc
Loading "protectbase" plugin
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install Process
Parsing package install arguments
fedora-extras 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00
dribble 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00
115 packages excluded due to repository protections
Nothing to do"

I am not very versed at this type of stuff so please offer me some assistance.

Hello,

You don't have the livna repository.... make sure it is correctly installed (eventually, you can erase the repo and create it again).

When it is installed, you should see something like:

fedora-extras 100% |=========================| 1.1 kB 00:00
livna 100% |=========================| xxxx B 00:00
dribble 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00

Also, put the protectbase add-on back (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm here if you need further assistance!
