I have been told by the work to buy an Apple iPhone this weekend - claim it back on expenses.

I have never had an Apple product in my life, I don't have any opinions for or against Apple.

Is this Apple iPhone article I found online a good staring guide.

Go for the iPhone4 as opposed to the 3G. Am I right in thinking the 4 is the latest version?

Remember that I might be a developer but I am not the most technical of people, I don't live for technology.
