Original Philips DVP5965K/51 (Russian, Ukraine, Belorussian edition) firmware very needed. I'll be very thankful for that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/coolspeak.gif)
Seems that Philips doesn't released firmware update on site, so it's needs to be dumped via serial cable.

I want to start my own firmware mod project for this model (mostly applying others fixes but maybe trying to add my own after that) with public releases here, but unfortunately already lost my original firmware in earlier experiments, before managed to create serial adapter to dump it. And now I'm sitting with firmware from DVP5965K/55 (also for /93), and it has only English/China OSD and only Western Europe (1250) selection for subtitles encoding (/51 firmware had English/Russian OSD and English/Cyrillic fonts for subtitles). So, restoring Russian OSD and adding Cyrillic fonts (not just replacing as I already did) for /55 will be additional work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) .

/51 firmwares for some similar models like DVP5960/51 or DVP5980/51 will be also helpful, I hope.

Anyone who has already extracted original firmware from your dvd player, would you please send me a serial cable? I can't make it myself and as far as I know there is no way else to extract original firmware.

I want to extract firmware from my Pioneer dv-595K and after a week searching and reading, I couldn't find any modified firmware for my dvd player due to the lack of original firmware. Consequently, I need to do it myself.

My problem with this dvd player is small subtitle when reading divx files so that my dad and my mom can't read it. This is a very very big problem for me because I recommend my dad to buy 4 of them for all members in my family. As a result, I have to take responsibility to make the subtitle bigger for them.

So anybody that has a serial cable and doesn't want to use it anymore, pls answer this topic mail me at llooo8oooll@hotmail.com.

I live in Poland so please, excuse my bad english.
I am a sad owner of dvd/divx player called Shark K-291
Divx. I bought it long time ago and recently, by excident, I put a CD
with wrong firmware [ROM] to my dvd player. Before I relized my
mistake, the update of the player was done with wrong firmware and
there was no chance to go back to privious settings. The store that
I bought it is closed out and I cannot find service place that would help me.
This is why I am asking you guys, please, be kind and if there is any chance
that you have that firmware to send it to me. My friend works in audio and video
repairs store and he said that, if he had an original firmware
he wpuld be able to programm the chip [flash], cause he has an appropriate tool to do it.
Please, Help me, please!!!

P.S.If you guys need more info about this player let mi know.
I already have found out, that the player was produced in China in some Tentzen or Tenzen something company.

I would like to have these features the same as 5960 modified firmware:
Long file name on the menu.
Changing the font color and size.
Resuming playback and selecting specific time in divx files.

Is it ok to use the modified firmware from 5960/12 or 5960/37 available here?
The official firmware of 5965k has the same update feature from 5960/37 official firmware, so I wonder it it's ok to use modified version for 5960/37 or 5960/12?

Is the anyone have DVP5960/12 Serial backup?
I installed CD backup with serial cable, and My DVD start working, but when i connect my DVD with HDMI, VGA signal lost after 10-15 seconds, and just return only re-installing HDMI cable or pushing upscale button. But signal lost again 10-15 seconds later.

That’s why I need backup file (It must be 2 MB size, mtkrenamer, or other programs can’t convert proper serial file, these serial files couldn’t solve my problem,serial file must created by mtktool backup)

I have serial cable but , I don't have serial backup. Can u send 5960/12 Serial backup file created by mtktool please?
