I replace DivXSubtitle from "Preference Page" with new, named "DVD-Video" with two option "With menu" and "Without menu". *All avi (Mpeg4) menu are in "General Page". You can change fonts or color when movie is played. *4 fonts for subtitle (Standard, Small, Medium and Large). *2 color for subtitle.I use text from OSD Language and new menu is "Colour" with 2 option: "Default" - white and "Cool" - yellow. *WordWrap + Reformat. I was able to get this working on 5990/37 by adding HDCP block and flashing with serial. Thanks for the firmware it works great.

Thanks for making this firmware.
The original dvp5990 does not store the subtitles-are-on setting.
This happens when using DivX and .srt subtitles.
For example, you have to push the subtitle button on the remote control
once or even twice to switch the subtitles on again,
every time after the dvd player is switched Off and On.
This is very enoying!
Is this corrected in this firmware?

Thanks.. GoTo h:mm:ss work? and autoload subtitles? and DVD Quick play? For 5990 I will make the same except color, but two version for color (white and yellow).To many "chinese" part in this version (37). Do you remember what OSD Language are in original 5990/37?

Yes, Goto works great. I've actually used this several times. Quick play also works good. I'm not sure about the language.

Hi
Anyone can do the FW for 5992/37 to include the Romanian Language, right now if I play a film w/ romanian subtitles, the special characters are messed up.

Daca nu stii cum, o sa le schimb eu... L-am luat din US si vreau sa-l fac sa mearga si cu fonturile romanesti, cel putin pe DivX, cele de DVD merg OK. Am incercat sa fac eu treaba asta cu programele de pe site dar de fiecare data cand vreau sa update firmware-ul imi zice ceva de checksum not correct. Daca poti sa-l faci sa mearga si nu tzipa la checksum ar fi super. Numai bine si multam in avans HC

Because this player show 23 char. from USB , I prefer to not add this patch. For 1252 is much better, only few char will not display correct. Got a checksum error loading the 1252.
The 1250 version however does work without an error.
Updated DVP5990, using a CDROM.
