Hi

I've been trying to flash my brand new Philips LX3900SA using MTZ v6 firmware (PhilipsLX3900-3950_1257_v6_Mtz.iso) as provided on the MTZ pages. I've followed the instructions very precisely and i'm getting

"unknown disc"

all the time.

I turn on the player, open the tray, press OSD for the version
SD6.1 V37 3900-01 2 09
SERVO: 33030000 REG:0
then i close the tray using either play or eject.

Burned as quoted: Disc At Once, Finalize CD. Write the CD at speed 4x.
I've tried several cd/cdr media, different programs (nero/alcohol 120%), several speeds (x4,x1)

Is there something wrong with the player or with me? smile.gif Is there a difference in the LX3900 and the LX3900SA, could that be it?

EDIT: i found only one link

some strange language, but the 5th post shows the same problem

Hi arielex,

I have the same problem as yours. I've tried to upgrade my LX3900SA v37 with a firmware I've downloaded from a polish web site and my divx player crashed. I had to take it to the service for repairs.

A person in a Turkish forum says that he renamed the file LX3900D.BIN to LX3900H2.BIN, and it worked.

That file was made for older version of LX3900, so I am not sure if it works or not. I already asked to Mtz, and he is also not sure.

Transparent subtitles are really annoying!. sad.gif If you have something new, please let me know.

Thanx
