Hello,

I've been gathering some information on the Pioneer DV-380 (a possible buy because of budget reasons with a A/V receiver). Found some pictures and a (very positive) review in german and as far I could see from the pictures it uses the Mediatek 1389FE chipset. Therefore I have two questions, the first being the obvious one about an MTZ fw for the DV-380 and my second question is about the FE chipset - it's features (are there any advancements or drawbacks considering other MTK chipsets) and possible playback problems (like packed bitstream, qpel or gmc). Thanks for the information!

ill try to answer some of your questions

Packet Bitstream all depense on the firmware, some player can play it but most dosen't unfortenly

qpl, as far i know all MTK based player plays qpl (correct me if i'm wrong)

GMC 1 point in Xvid should be played, 3 point in Xvid i can almost say won't play


and Mtz modded firmware i can't say if will come
