im having jerky playback with some divx files and i would like to know if a firmware update would help fix this problem? also would the update work on a cdrw? i noticed that there a few updates available for rimax players but they need to be either 16-bit flash or 8-bit flash,how do i find out what kind my player needs? id much rather update it with a cd than use a cable

Search google for MPEG4 modifier
Download & install it
Also download Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 & install it

Run MPEG4 modifier & load an avi file (i.e. movie file)
If it shows a YES next to packed bitstream then tick UNPACK & resave the file with a different name.

and install frameworks from windows update and then do as Xion wrote
