I have a Philips LX3900SA, upgraded with last official firmware (v36):

SD6.1 V36 3900-01 2 09
SERVO:03150000 REG:2

I've successfully installed the "PhilipsLX3900-3950_1252_v6_Mtz" firmware, but when it finishes writing, after reboot, it shows "LOADING" and then instead of "NO DISC" it shows just "N"... And it seems broken, almost locked, I have to unplug the power cord to let it power off and reboot. Or, if I try to enter setup while it's still searching for disc (LOADING on screen), it works and I see the changes in the subtitles section; anyway discs are not read, it tries to read but stops suddenly. There's something weird.

Luckily, the firmware upgrading function works, so I can rewrite with the official firmware and everything is good, except the fact that I have back that sucking original firmware ;)

Unsatisfied, I've tried to install the "Philips FW v36 PeLi mod V5" by PeLi, again successfully, but again with the very same problems: after writing and reboot and when the LOADING text disappears, a lonely "N" instead of "NO DISC" stands there staring at me, and the player is almost freezed, or works improperly.

Does someone have some clues for helping me in having a nice unofficial firmware for my LX3900SA?

Problem solved: firmwares that have the ARM block replacement don't work on my LX3900SA. Now I'm happily using the "Philips_LX3900_v36_NewAge_v12" FW, it has not the ARM block replacement so everything goes nice.

What does it mean ARM block ????
Never heard about it.

Replacing ARM is dangerous if you don't have serial cable.
Is better to wait until somebody mod the firmware and tested it.

enjoy,
