I had upgrade my Scott 842 Rev3 with the wrong FW CD. Now is dead. When i power on, the display and the red LED flash on for a second. In this second can i see F29 in the display.

i'm trying to back up the firmware in my scott 842 whit MTK tools 1.29 but only thing that is happening after switching on the player and hit upgrade in the program is

LOG: Start to backup
LOG: Init OK
and then its just hang there, using a serial cabel from a Nokia 3310

did i need 3.3v ?

1=3.3V
2=GND
3=RX
4=TX

I download the Original scott FW from this Board and convert it to Serial

I connect the serial cabel to DVD Player.
Turn on the DVD Player
Start Upgrade from the MTK Tool

is this right?

Sorry for my english. reading is better than writing. I`m a stupid german. :-)

Ok, understand this. The wires one the Phone side are

Blue = TX
no color = GND
Red = Mbus (3.3V)
Green = RX

The problem is the serial side. red and green are on one port (look Picture)
[attachmentid=1352]

Is it on your cabel the same on the serial side? This is the problem while i ask for a picture.
Hackerjac
i have never opened the seriel plug since its formed in plastic and i then have to cut it open whit a knife, but my cabel diden't had the 3.3V, try and connect it to your player whitout connecting the 3.3V, only Tx, Rx and GND

Mtz_ Look at my (last/all) Posts

[attachmentid=1349]

I used an adapter cabel (Black, Brown, Red Orange)

Black = GND
Brown = TX
Red = RX
Orange = 3.3V (MBus)

The Nokia 3210 serial cabel (Black, White, Blue)

Black = GND
White = RX
Blue = TX

I connect the adapter cabel whit the serial cabel

adapter serial

Black = GND = Black
Brown = TX = Blue
Red = RX = White
Orange = 3.3V = no wire need

or

Gnd with Gnd
RX with RX
Tx with TX
3.3v (Mbus) not connect

Mtz
I was talking about some screenshot like this: http://board.softpedia.com/index.php?act=A...pe=post&id=1352 In that screenhot you can see the Nokia connector, but no White or Black as you described.

enjoy,
Mtz
