The firmware is far good, but treu its not 100%
some movies could freez

I cannot repair it sad.gif but Temi and RistoE are stil busy to make it better
and i read NewAge has also plans to make a new Yamada 6600

if more news comes i let you know

AC

insted they use the newage v15 they could use the [MTZ V15 - cHiEsa Mod V2] version (is based in newagev15) because:

it seems the subtitles bug .srt and .idx/sub (the dvd dont read correct the microseconds and for that sometimes the subtitles disapear to fast) is corrected.

and 42 characters bug is corrected (the subtitles will work if the subtitles name is bigger than 42 characters)

Hi

alwaysconnected can you test this please

It seems that none dvd shloud be able to play GMC with more than 1 warpoint, but I test a movie with 2 warpoints and the movie works well (only some gliches hapend because the PBS), can you test this please and with 3 warpoints to, because if this works the player will stay great. (I think I use the apex b6 - and the dvd used was a denver 228)
alwaysconnected
If you have a movie with 3 warppoints ?

i want to check it
zapata07
Redcat, I think it is normal for the players to play GMC with 2 warp points. 3 warp points is when all players have problems. And we're talking about XviD, right?

If you have a movie with 3 warp points and it plays perfectly, it will be something revolutionary! wink.gif
redcat
I dont have any divx with 3 warpoints.

The normal is only play 1 warpoint, 2 warpoint is suposed dont work in any fw
zapata07
I stand corrected. That's right, it's 2 warp points, or more, that don't work with XviD. And I can tell you that they don't work with this one either. I happen to have run the DivXtest CD v1.1 and both XviD GMC tests fail.

Another thing: you mention DivX, the problem is with XviD and GMC not with DivX and GMC. DivX and GMC has no problems.

Hi, i am from Croatia and I need help. I have Yamada 6600 with "Yamada6600_1250_v15_Mtz" firmware. How can I update my player to read movies with SUB. I am download "http://koti.mbnet.fi/teevar/tiedostot/APEX-YAMA_B7.zip" and I burn zdvx6600 on cd (finalizing cd, disk at once, 8x). When I put this cd in player it says : No disc or Unknown disc. I also download ProCaster_v2 (zdvx2410) but I got the same message. What can I do?
Please, help !

dalibor download this RAR
in this RAR is an iso
burn the iso with nero, fireburner or any other tool
burn it on a CDR(w)
and have fun greats AC

Again message "Unknown disc". I burn the iso on a CD-R at 4x and again the same message. What can I do?
Maybe I must remove the last upgrade and then put the new iso, but how?
dalibor
I suceed. I burn the iso with Alcohol 120% and it works. Now read .SUB and .TXT subtitles.
Thank you, alwaysconnected.

Same here Alwaysconnected. confusedsmiley.png

I played one yesterday and the sound just got stuck. So I had to turn the machine on and off. If it can be done with the 6700 (which I also have and works very well now with packed bitstream), surely it can be done with the 6600.

Any idea which group will release the new firmware? I hope they do soon rolleyes.gif

I recently upgrade my yamada 6600 with APEX-YAMA_B7 firmware and PB is working fine.
My question to all of you is:
Is it possible to make code page 1250 version of this firmware?

If that is not possible can you just tell me which tool was used to make fonts for this firmware. I tried to modify fonts with MtkFontCreator but canged fonts looked misshapen when I started my player.

This firmware has some specific requirements for the fonts it uses. I'm not 100% sure this is the only requirement, but I think you should choose "NEW compatibility mode" option (near the button where you save the font). That will help.

For whatever reason (bug?) sometimes, some characters are still wrong. If this happens, try to change the font size, by increasing or decreasing it by 1. It appears to solve the problem with the troublesome fonts. Another thing: when you insert the font, with MTKRemaker, don't worry if they look weird. In principle, it's no problem, they will work on the player. I think it's a bug in MTKRemaker, with this "NEW Compatibility mode".

Good luck and let us know how it worked for you.

Just to let you know that i sent to NA a new firmware with the new Risk 5.0.5.1 (but only with 2 arm parts) from this player

https://www2.setssl.com/~hivizone/dvdplayer/main_frame.htm

and this firmware is for 8MB players!

If you can import he arm/Risc part´s i don´t know. If yes, maybe it will work in 8Mb 6600.

I don´t have news from NA except that this is a 8mb firmware because is very busy right now.

so perhaps we are lucky inlove.gif

Great job. Thanks.
What I tryed to do is change font 7-10 for subtitles into 1250 code, but I was unsuccessful. Tell me why please. Fonts are strange or coded or i dont know.
zapata07
You've got to use MTKFOntcreator (latest release, 0.6.2) and save with the "New mode". And you've got to be lucky that all characters will be OK. wink.gif If they aren't, try to change the font a little bit, like adding or subtracting 1 to their size.

I looked that the firmware always connected posted above and found it a bit scary due to it stated 8mb only and needed serial cable! So Ill leave that one alone death.gif

Ill keep checking back to this thread for news and updates fingers crossed cool.gif

yamada6600
Hello everyone,

Afrer reading many topics on many forums on many languages i finaly did this.

I flashed my yamada 6600 with this firmware http://yamada6600.wz.cz

As I live in Croatia code page 1250 is useful for subtitles that I rarely use but I want to use them if I file like using.

Firmware seems to be OK (However I didn't test it thoroughly)
Noticed that even player reckognize 2 subtitles in folder , regardless of which one has been set in the menu it always shows the same one , probably the one that has the same name as avi file.

What I Noticed and I was hoping is lack of SUPPORT for OGG audio and maybe NERO DIGITAL.

I wonder if someone for example MTZ can incorporate those features in yamada 6600 firmware and make it bootable from CD:)

For people who installed united 4070 Pavonio V5 can you tell me precisely how did you do it ? By cable or by CD. The site is in Italian and I do not undersatnd a word , It says something about burning procedure wizh nero. But I find that mtk.bin is file for mediatek flasher prorgam over serial cable .Is that right.

Besides there is something more that I do not understand. I read that YAMADA 6600 has Mediatek "DE" chipset.. On the site of the firmware http://www.versiliaweb.net/united4070/index.htm is says it is for Mediatek 1389FE.That confuses me a bit.

alwaysconnected
You say you have installed it.How and does it work completely.

MTZ , if you as an expert can say a few words I would appreciate it very much:)

Merry Christmass to everyone..
Mtz
I don't have this player, so I can not mod this firmware. The best in firmware mods is New Age. He is not member in this forum sad.gif but AlwaysConnected can bring the latest news about this player.
Personally I think this player is old, and with 40-60 euro you can buy a new one which is better. Now you have experience, you know where and what to search for the best player.

enjoy,
Mtz
yamada6600
Well It may be old, but it would be nice that people who have it have at least ogg audio support.

Mtz, I don't know why but i thought you had yamada 6600 ,maybe because of firmwares you made for it.

Alwaysconnected , do you have any info for me?smile.gif
alwaysconnected
New Age made the v4 for yamada 6700

and he wrote some time ago this

Currently I have my shedule regarding mediatek firmware mod releases:

Yamada 6700 this one is done

Xoro HSD400 Pro (for 2 servo version)
Philips DVP720SA
Philips LX3900SA
Yamada 6600

So I don't know when will I reach the time when I can start the Y6600 mod. For 4MB players there is a fine RISC (3 arm codes) with lot of features and for 8MB players seems like this new generation RISC with Nero Digital support works just fine.
-------------------------------------
So i think he is now on the other things
I keep you ppl informed
---------------

I did not installed that united 4070 Pavonio V5
i only installed the Temi mod made on the version mentioned in the earlier post
yamada6600
Thanks guys,

I have opened mine 6600 today...Took a photo as well, I see 2 chips above mediatek chip so I guess this one is with 8 MB of memory.

However, I'm new in this , and do not understand what "RISC" is. It's a pity I do not have any cable prepared yet:)

One other thing: I use K3B under Linux. Are there any problems writing the ISO from the RAR archive?

if you have a yamada 6600 (4mb player) it works good i heard
if you ahve a yamada 6600 (8mb player) it freezes and crashed a lot, also can give a wierd noise.

if you donnot have an iso burner @ linux

you can extract exe iso in sie are 2 file
dummy and bin

the bin is the firmware, the dummy is not always nescessary but i recommedn to burn.

if you have nero for linux you can burn it normal
Fuzzy
So, after a great deal of consideration (and after I opened the box to make sure I have the 4 MB version) I have decided to go ahead. I burned the iso in K3B without any problems and dived in...
The update was... well, it was normal. smile.gif
After the usual Defaults Reset and the 30 sec without electricity I fired up the player and everithing was ok. The .srt and the .sub worked ok, but there is no 1251 codepage available (only 1250 and 1252), and so the Romanian specific characters were replaced by their (ab)normal replacements.
So far, so good.

The plus: .sub subtitles (finally), nice subtitle options
The minus: background (if enabled) appears also for volume, no 1251 codepage, no .ogg (at least not yet, hopefully).

Question: when the firmware is remastered is it possible for the Search algorithm (Fast Forward, Rewind, etc.) to be changed from just {2X -> 4X -> 8X -> 16X -> normal} to also include the directional keys (up, down, left, right) just like mplayer or BSplayer uses {up -> skip forward 1 minute, right -> skip forward 10 sec, down -> skip backward 1 min, left -> skip backward 10 sec}?

Well, I'm new in this but I can't understand that something does not work iwith 8MB of ram and it works with 4MB..

Not a regular situation in the world of computers, as the matter of fact it is opposite.

On the other side seems logical to me that there might me something that requires more ram and 4 MB is not enough.

Not the same situation in stand alone Divx/XVID plaxers?
