I downloaded and installed the firmware "SilvaSchneider404_1252_v4_Mtz" yesterday and first I was very happy to see the improvements, like the file-browser now displaying the full name of MP3-files and such.
But then I noticed one little nasty thing: When playing a DVD that was created out of (S)VCD's, there is no sound!
I immediately flashed the original firmware back and it worked just like before. Really sad, because I liked the new appearance, but with this kind of restriction, I have to step back to the old firmware.

OK, so I reply to my own article here. I noticed that there is a new firmware now, and the changelog claims:
10. Fixed bug with mp2 audio for DVD and SVCD.
Well, there *is * audio now (unlike the previous firmware, where there was total silence), but the audio is totally crappy. It's full of hisses and clicks - in one word: useless.
The original firmware plays the audio of these movies *perfectly*. Your modified firmware has such wonderful features, what a shame you've "repaired it to pieces".
